Job Description

Job Summary

Position has responsibility for managing a staff of environmental professionals responsible for the technical support, environmental permitting and project management of the company's construction of proposed new and modified and replacement natural gas facilities.  Develops and manages capital budgets to ensure cost effective environmental project support and compliance.  Manages staff responsible for the development and preparation of correspondence, technical reports, and applications in support of linear project development, including FERC 7c applications and resource reports.  Leads staffs interaction and consultation with numerous federal and state agencies including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, US Army Corps of Engineers and US Fish & Wildlife Service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The successful candidate must have the following experience:

  • 10+ years of experience working with environmental permitting and planning for construction of natural gas facilities.
  • Strong ability to manage project teams, internal staff, and external contractors or consultants.
  • Proven ability to diplomatically and assertively handle challenging situations with regulatory agencies, the public, or company personnel.
  • Using logic and strategic reasoning to identify potential solutions to complex problems, including implications to budget, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Proven team building skills, communication skills, writing skills and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people internal and external to the organization in a collaborative fashion.
  • Ability to manage staff, set workforce vision, and set expectations commensurate with the company's Environmental Policy Statement and organizational goals and strategies.
  • Ability to assign work appropriately, inspire, motivate, and guide others.
  • Ability to represent company in public and regulatory forums.
  • Ability to be resilient under pressure, to maintain focus, and to remain optimistic and persistent.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor , Other Education: Engineering, Science
