We are seeking a self-motivated, senior-level environmental remediation professional (Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist), with 10-plus years of experience, preferably in the utility industry. Experience in the investigation and remediation of former manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites and/or coal combustion residuals (CCR) sites is a plus. The successful candidate will lead our talented and successful team of professionals serving a portfolio of well-established utility clients and projects. Leadership responsibilities associated with this position include technical practice leadership, key account management, and development and implementation of sales strategies for the remediation industry. The successful candidate should possess a diverse remediation technical background, project/program management skills, and significant remediation investigation, consulting, and execution experience. Existing client relationships, particularly within the utility industry, are a plus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying key target clients and developing a focused sales approach and comprehensive business development strategy. Applicants should have more than 5 years of active involvement in acquiring new business and developing client relationships in the remediation industry. Regional knowledge of the remediation market and relationships with key clients within the industry are a must.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing technical aspects of investigation and remediation projects and may serve as a subject matter expert and technical support resource for the national Remediation Technical Practice Area. Duties will also include the management of individual projects and the supervision and coordination of multidisciplinary project teams. Projects will range from multi-million dollar remediation programs to smaller projects (i.e.< $100k) investigation and remediation sites.
Candidates must have the ability to effectively balance billable and non-billable time.
Travel is required and professional registration is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental sciences or related field from an accredited curriculum is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience investigating and remediating environmental sites; experience with MGP and/or CCR sites is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years in remediation-related marketing, sales, and client development.
Strong understanding and current knowledge of applicable remediation technologies and techniques.
Report, design, and bid package preparation experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage technical projects and lead remediation design efforts.
Ability to work within a team framework.
Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform design tasks, etc.) are also a prerequisite.
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of project-related matters.
