HDR is looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager with transportation environmental experience to join our Southeast Environmental Science and Planning practice in Atlanta, GA. The candidate must have a strong background in NEPA and state-level environmental reviews and direct experience managing the regulatory approval and permitting process for transportation related infrastructure projects, including highway, airport, maritime and local roadway projects. Ideal candidate has direct experience managing multidiscipline teams in the environmental review of federal, state and locally sponsored transportation projects pursuant to NEPA and other regulatory procedures governing transportation project approvals, including the preparation and review of environmental impact statements (EIS), environmental assessments (EA), natural and cultural resource reports, and other environmental documents.
Position involves supporting market needs and client-focused solutions, including support of client management efforts, and strategic thinking to expand our South Atlantic environmental transportation practices in Georgia. Responsibilities will include managing major environmental projects in the state, identifying client opportunities, supporting major proposal efforts and mentoring and training staff.
Candidates should demonstrate experience in managing technical staff, proficiency in developing and managing project related NEPA, permitting and regulatory compliance strategies for all stages of project development from initial critical issues analysis, through permitting, construction compliance, and post construction monitoring and close-out. This includes experience in directing the technical and administrative aspects of environmental studies and the preparation of environmental permit applications; coordinating schedules; providing technical QA; implementing program policy; and problem resolution to assure project completion on time and within budget.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.
