Responsibilities

This position is part of the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge located in Needles, CA. As a Wildlife Biologist , you will be responsible for designing and conducting studies of species and their habitats, collect data, analyze data, make recommendations to alter wildlife management plans, and prepare reports.

The duties of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts and implements the Refuge's biological program
  • Executes planning, logistics, and implementation of wildlife surveys
  • Gathers, organizes, and interprets biological, ecological, pathological, public use or other pertinent information to ensure management plans are current
  • Develops databases and analyzes data using standard statistical methods and procedures in preparation of progress reports
  • Operates small water craft, farm tractors, lights trucks, vehicles, and various other equipment
  • Attends and provides input at meetings with the general public, landowners, and other units of state, county, and Federal government

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Occasional travel is required to attend workshops, training, and meetings.
