A Day in the Life of a Hospitality Crew Member

We operate 9 lodging facilities, 31 restaurants, and 5 campgrounds inside Yellowstone National Park. The hospitality crew plays an integral role in continuing the daily operation of our park. You provide guests with the best in service, courtesy, and care. Because no prior experience is necessary, this is a great way to get your Yellowstone career started.

Candidates applying for Hospitality Crew will be considered for the following positions. Your assigned role may vary based on your experience level as well as the business needs of Yellowstone National Park Lodges:

  • Kitchen crew (prep, set-up, service, clean up, and restocking of food service areas)
  • We offer diverse dining options: from fine dining to more casual, historic buildings to newer renovations, à la carte operations to cafeterias to quick service. Along with that is a focus on items produced in our own backyard of Wyoming and Montana.
  • Room attendant (clean and prepare guest rooms)
  • Our Housekeeping department uses environmentally preferable cleaning supplies, and stocks rooms with Rainforest Alliance certified coffee. Guests can opt-in to “Our Softer Footprint Green Housekeeping Program” to support Yellowstone’s sustainability goals.
  • Laundry (wash, dry, fold, count, and sort laundry)
  • All park laundry operations take place just inside the park’s northern boundary at Gardiner, Montana. Our hard-working laundry staff feels a great sense of pride in their work. Check out Laundry Operations on YouTube!

Fun Fact

Much of our management team and others started working in these very positions when they first came to the park. Our executive chef started as seasonal employee, working on the kitchen crew at the Old Faithful Inn and our director of Human Resources started as a room attendant.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Candidates interested in hospitality positions in Yellowstone are drawn to the unique opportunity to work in the world’s first national park. You should be enthusiastic about our sustainability initiatives and mission to provide ‘legendary hospitality with a softer footprint’. Our employees are not only highly knowledgeable of the layout and operations at their own location, but also have a general knowledge of the park and its surrounding areas.
