Works independently or in a group to conduct research for and develop all levels of environmental documentation (including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements), Waters of the U.S./State Reports, Wetland and Stream Mitigation Design/Oversight, and permit applications for transportation projects in Indiana, in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and federal, state and local environmental regulations and requirements. Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of planning work for a number of large and important projects. Some assignments involve the use of computer software applications. This role will be heavily involved with wetland delineation studies.
4-year degree in Biology, Ecology, Urban/Environmental Planning or related field and 3-5 years of related work experience. Experience working with wetland delineations is essential.Proven experience in conducting waters investigations (including wetland delineations), including plant identification.Understanding of NEPA and all relevant federal, state and local environmental regulations and requirements.Experience in preparing all levels and types of environmental documents and permits.Some travel may be required.Experience with wetland and/or stream mitigation design/oversight a plus. USACE Certified Wetland Delineator or Professional Wetland Scientist certification a plus.
Basic knowledge of NEPA and environmental planning, practices and procedures is required. Proficiency in utilizing PC and various software packages typically used in urban/environmental planning assignments is required. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, and a thorough understanding of local statutes and environmental rules and regulations. Ready for action?
