Job Description

ICF seeks an Environmental Program Specialist to work within our Regulatory, Economics, Environmental & Energy Services (R3E) team. You will support our U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) client and will work on-site at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

You will be responsible primarily for supporting the USMC client on the Camp Lejeune Historic Drinking Water project. The Environmental Program Specialist is expected to apply their academic and prior experience to this project and interact directly with the client on a daily basis. Be prepared to be a team player with very strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to organize workloads and meet deadlines.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the on-site liaison between the USMC client and ICF’s call center, public affairs, and financial teams.

  • Support public outreach activities associated with the project, including responding to letters and emails that are submitted by the public.

  • Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly project status reports to the client.

  • Maintain an understanding of all technical aspects of the project and communicate progress to the client.

  • Assist the USMC client with general day-to-day administrative duties.

  • Provide technical support including performing research, Internet, and database searches; compiling and organizing data and information; and preparing charts, tables, and figures. 

What You'll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, or communications

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Demonstrated experience interacting directly with clients

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work independently and to coordinate work with other team members

 Additional preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of and interest in the areas of contaminated site characterization, remediation, and risk assessment under Federal, state, or other cleanup programs

  • Ability to obtain an active DOD security clearance
