The Palmdale environmental engineer develops strategies and directs the integration of the Palmdale Environmental Management System (EMS), site environmental processes and programs. Develop audit protocols and conducts compliance reviews for hazardous waste, air pollution control, spill prevention, and drinking water programs. Evaluates facility construction projects for to minimize environmental risk and recommends best practices to contractors. May provides environmental support to Boeing operations in the local area. Work Authorization:This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. This position requires membership in SPEEA (Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace), a professional engineering union.
Education / Typical Experience:Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
