Summary

About the Position: The Portland District operates 13 dams in the Willamette River basin. Each dam contributes to a water resource management system that provides flood risk management, power generation, water quality improvement, irrigation, fish and wildlife habitat and recreation on the Willamette River and many of its tributaries.

Responsibilities

  • At the full performance GS-09 level, you will serve as a Natural Resource Specialist (Ranger) performing a variety of assignments involving all aspects of project operations including natural resources, recreation, and wildlife habitat management.
  • Administration, coordination, and management of various project activities in the areas of environmental stewardship, recreation, park administration, public relations, visitor assistance, public safety.
  • Administration, coordination, and management of various project activities in the areas of recreation, fish and wildlife.
  • Administration, coordination, and management of various project activities in the areas of soil conservation, forest conservation, water quality.
  • Participate and create long and short range planning of fish and wildlife management programs.
  • Administration, coordination, and management of various project activities in the areas of cultural resource management, real estate actions, and other related fields.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Occasional travel to project sites, conferences or training may be required.
