Do you thrive in the pursuit of ensuring excellence in environmental consulting services for your clients? SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. 

Our Austin office offers a unique work environment and specializes in natural resources and cultural resources consulting. 

Your role will be to assist our Project Managers on natural resources consulting projects. You should be able to work on a  temporary basis, full-time hours including weekends and frequent travel.

What you will accomplish

Conduct a variety of natural resources field studies including wetland delineations, threatened/endangered species assessments, and avian/wildlife surveys.  Conduct fieldwork, organize and transfer field data, and write technical reports and permit applications related to Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and other resource planning/permitting, and/or natural resource disciplines.  Assist in the writing and development of written deliverable related to project work.

Experience and qualifications for success 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, Fish and Wildlife Science, Ecology, or related field  required
  • Environmental survey experience in Texas a plus
  • Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations and guidance, particularly in Texas preferred
  • Familiarity with mapping software such as ArcGIS and GPS devises is highly desired
  • Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, often at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required
