We are seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic Biologist , to join our team in Madison, WI.Responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the coordination and management of environmental permitting, assessment, and/or compliance work related to the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and various federal and state agency requirements as they pertain to a variety of project types including renewable energy, energy transmission and generation facilities, transportation, and private development projects.
Assisting the Project Lead with the preparation, research, review, and editing of technical documents, such as environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, habitat conservation plans, and environmental and technical reports.
Analyzing and summarizing data from wildlife field surveys and habitat assessments for a variety of species.
Assisting with field work, and collection of field data as needed.
Participating in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments; recording, entering, organizing, managing, and analyzing data.
Writing technical reports for client and regulatory agency review.
Attending client and regulatory agency meetings and providing recommendations and input.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Required Skills and Experience:
Master of Science Degree (preferred) in natural resources, ecology, wildlife, or related biological field; or a Bachelor of Science Degree with
3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and/or experience with federal, state, and/or local environmental permitting processes specifically related to endangered species, ESA, MBTA, BGEPA, and/or NEPA.
Knowledge and experience with wildlife field survey techniques and habitat assessments for a variety of species.
Willingness to travel, and the ability to work in the field for long hours in all weather conditions.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
