Synopsis

SLR International Corporation is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer (Geotechnical or Geo-environmental emphasis) with 10 to 15 years of experience to join our Irvine, California operations. Preferred candidates will have strong relevant academic background and a desire to work in consulting. The successful candidate will possess, at minimum, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with preference given to candidates with a Master of Science degree.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must have a valid Civil Engineer's license
  • 10 to 15 years professional experience as a Civil Engineer
  • Experience in civil design including hydrology, grading plans, landfills or mines, and liner and cover designs required
  • High skill level in design and evaluation of civil engineering features of site development and remediation projects (hydrology, slope stability, settlement, grading plan layout, design with geosynthetics)
  • Knowledge of field investigation methods and construction methods
  • Strong understanding of Federal & State environmental regulatory programs
  • Knowledge of seismic design
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to travel by car, rental car, and airplane including overnight travel
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time may be required

Preferred Technical Skills and Experience

  • Master of Science or Engineering degree is preferred
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients and junior staff to complete various geotechnical and civil engineering projects
  • Project work includes, but is not limited to design of grading plans, landfill features, hydrology analysis, mine tailings, dams, and similar projects
  • Build relationships with clients that result in sustained business growth
  • Demonstrate proficiency in project management and effective oversight of group tasks and goals
  • Achieve business financial targets and project deliverables
