Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. is seeking an entry-level environmental scientist to join our Nashville, Tennessee office to assist our Project Managers with environmental planning projects as well as other transportation planning projects as needed.
Duties include: Assisting with the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, supporting agency coordination efforts, public involvement (preparation of materials and attendance at events), land use planning, preparation of maps and GIS analysis, and Census data collection. Responsibilities also include assisting with and maintaining our client relations, adherence to scope, schedule and project budgets, and upholding our quality control processes.
•Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
•An understanding of NEPA, as well as other relevant state and federal environmental laws
•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Urban and Regional Planning
•All applicants must have demonstrated experience with the following software: ArcGIS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
•Some project related travel may be required

•Introductory project management skills
•Involvement in professional organizations like the American Planning Association and the National Association of Environmental Professionals
•The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
•The ability to work well independently and in a team environment
