Under supervision, carries out applied research projects in relation to wastewater treatment processes, individually or in conjunction with other investigators.
A master's degree in water resources sciences, environmental sciences, environmental engineering or sanitary engineering from an accredited college or university.
The examination will consist of a written test weighted 100%. The minimum passing score on the written test will be 70% unless determined otherwise by the Director of Human Resources. Candidates must achieve a passing score to have their names placed on the eligible list.
The written test will assess candidates' knowledge, skill and ability in areas such as collection and analysis of data; interpretation of data using statistical methods such as t-tests, F-tests and correlation analyses; wastewater and sludge processing technologies; environmental processes and phenomena that may be impacted by wastewater or sludge processing technologies; laboratory and field data acquisition techniques; occupational hazards and safety precautions; reading and understanding written material; and written communication.

The written test will be administered on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, 3857 West 111th Street, Chicago, IL.
