About the Position: This position is located in the Office of the Garrison Commander, Directorate of Public Works, IMCOM, National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA. Fort Irwin is a world class training center for America's Soldiers, known for its excellent desert training and vast recreational opportunities. Located approximately 37 miles NE of Barstow, California, in the High Mojave Desert midway between Las Vegas Nevada and Log Angeles, California, Fort Irwin has many fun activities such as Desert Discovery, 6 hole Pitch N' Putt golf course, Skeet and Trap range, High Adventure and Sightseeing Trips. Fort Irwin has a mass transit bus system that travels to and from Barstow (37 miles) and Victorville (69 miles) as most of the civilians and soldiers live there. You will serves as a Environmental Protection Specialist performing the following duties:

  • Project officer for a variety of environmental compliance programs.
  • Provide technical advice to Fort Irwin units, activities, tenant organizations and rotation units.
  • Conduct evaluations, issue guidance, and takes necessary action to ensure compliance with environmental regulatory compliance programs.
  • Monitor organization activities to ensure they are in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
