Ready to put your environmental field skills to work on a restoration project that will aid our Onondaga community? Would you enjoy working closely with other students and experienced environmentalist? Parsons is now hiring interns who will implement restoration project work at ground level in the Syracuse area.
Intern will implement restoration project work at the ground level in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of a Field Supervisor.
Native planting, seeding, erosion control installation or any other activities necessary with field restoration projects.
Participation in monitoring activities, such as vegetation and wildlife reconnaissance surveys.
Work will be part to full time based on field schedule.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and currently enrolled in an accredited graduate-level degree program of study with a focus on wetland ecology or related field. Must be proficient at identifying wetland plant species in the field. Must have working knowledge of plant communities in and around Onondaga Lake Remediation Projects.
Extensive background and/or understanding of wetland ecology. Applicant should have the ability to identify common wetland plant species in the field and less common species through use of taxonomic keys. Bird ID knowledge encouraged.
1-3 years of work or previous internship experience in a related setting is a plus.
