The Watsonville Environmental Science Workshop brings hands on Science to under served students at after school community locations, elementary and middle school sites. The candidate will work at multiple locations to teach all ages of students how to make science projects using both hand and power tools. The applicant must have experience teaching, a valid driver’s license, experience using basic tools, and the ability to work Saturdays and after school during the week. The candidate will teach after school classes, mentor high school helpers, prepare materials, and participate in field trips. Assists in the operation of the Public Works and Utilities Department Science Workshop, Conservation Education School Program, Nature Center and related education programs. The Environmental Education Assistant helps to provide educational opportunities for youth and families to engaging in activities that promote a greater understanding of local water conservation, water quality and solid waste issues and promote adoption of resource conservation behaviors.
