This position will be assisting with our Water Resources and Environmental Sciences groups.
The primary duties of the Water Resources Intern include assisting project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource and sewer projects for federal, state and local municipalities. More specific duties include: assisting in hydraulics and hydrology modeling, data collection, and data processing using excel and geographic information systems. Typical projects range from flood control, floodplain design, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, and watershed issues. Other expected tasks include data entry, design calculations, GIS data production, assisting in production of technical reports and production water resources studies.
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or a graduate Civil or Environmental program. A minimum 3.00 GPA.Attention to detail a must. Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite. Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task.Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
