Job Description

CONTEXT: within the framework of its 2020 strategy, ALSTOM set ambitious objectives towards environmental excellence. Amongst them, the control of the potentially contaminated sites and the control of the energy consumptions and the associated CO2 emissions.

The central Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team is looking for an Environment trainee from April 2017. He/she will report to the Environment Director and work with multidisciplinary teams (EHS, sustainable development, Sourcing, Finance…) on a worldwide perimeter. 


The objectives of the internship are: 

On the « control of the potentially contaminated sites » part, within the framework of the Historical Pollution Plan launched in 2016:

  • Support the sites to comply with the internal procedures, especially :
    • Realisation of the environmental assessments and asbestos surveys
    • Determination of the levels of priority according to internal criteria
    • Verification of the action plans implementation according to the levels of priority defined
  • Update the dashboard according to the sites status 

On the « control of the energy consumption » part, within the framework of the Alstom Energy Saving Plan launched in 2016:

  • Support the sites to build their Energy plan and implement it
  • Share the good practices in an attractive way
  • Benchmark the companies of the sector
  • Develop the green energy use

A contribution may be required on the CO2 emissions management (calculation, strategy to reduce them, answer to Carbon Disclosure Project questionnaire).

PROFIL: He/she wants to be involved in a rewarding internship focused on concrete environmental concerns of the company.

Trained engineer (bac+5) with a specialization in environment. In-depth knowledge in contaminated sites and/or in energy would be a plus. Analysis and communication skills. Autonomy.

English and French fluent.
