The Pasadena office is seeking a qualified Senior Project Manager with strong analytic and writing skills to develop California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and related permitting reports as a member of our Environmental Planning team. In this position you will be managing projects through the state and/or federal environmental review processes and providing senior technical review of work products, as well as providing exceptional management services to public and private sector clients.

We are looking for an advancing environmental planning professional with extensive knowledge in CEQA/NEPA review and 15+ years of experience in the Southern California market who is known for delivering high quality documents and services. This person must be able to demonstrate his/her capabilities in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships with the potential for continuing services. The ideal candidate will be looking for career growth, leadership, and team building opportunities in an entrepreneurial setting and will bring demonstrated experience with loyal clients.


  • Manage CEQA/NEPA process and coordinate with the project team to ensure delivery of compliant technical work products on schedule and within budget
  • Provide thorough technical reviews of team and sub-consultant CEQA/NEPA work products and/or services
  • Prepare logical, well-written, comprehensive, and legally defensible environmental impact analyses for use in CEQA/NEPA documents
  • Communicate with clients in a professional and responsive manner to address needs and creatively resolve challenges
  • Prepare presentations for and participate in public meetings
  • Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for proposals and coordinate with sub-consultants
  • Participate in marketing events, pre-bid meetings, and interviews
  • Develop new clients and generate business from existing clients
  • Assist with creating a cooperative team-centered culture and mentoring staff


  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, urban development, planning, policy, or related field is required; a master's degree is preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in preparing CEQA/NEPA studies that depicts an ability to prepare legally defensible documents for increasingly complex and/or controversial projects
  • Demonstrated success in providing environmental planning CEQA/NEPA consulting services
  • Client references and/or letters of commendation
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Valid driver's license and be able to meet company insurance requirements for driving on behalf of Psomas
