Description

Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, has an opportunity for a student intern to provide engineering support to our project managers in our Virginia Beach, VA office. We are seeking a motivated and achievement oriented individual looking to gain practical hands-on experience outside of the classroom.

Job Expectations:

As a student intern, you will perform routine engineering support duties requiring professional training but little or no experience. You may be assigned, under close supervision, to simple engineering data analysis, data assessment, data entry and formatting and organizing information for reports. You may also perform basic CAD or GIS input or modifications, and also provide basic project support such as formatting and distributing meeting notes; project filing, field site visits, and other general support of project engineers.

Desired Skills and Experience:

To qualify for an internship, you must be enrolled in a full-time program (nine credit hours per semester) seeking a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. You also must be in good standing and carry an overall GPA of least 3.0 in your core curriculum, as well as a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
