Stantec's New York, NY office is hiring an Environmental Technician or Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer in Training to assist with the following work: environmental remedial construction observation; remedial system monitoring; Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments; environmental compliance and permitting; preparing reports summarizing the above activities; and assisting with proposals.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering
2-4 years of work experience in the NYC area
Current 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training
Experience with soil, groundwater, soil vapor and building materials sampling
Experience with Brownfield Cleanup Project Community Air Monitoring Programs
Experience with environmental remedialconstruction observation
Ability to analyze information and data and develop appropriate conclusions
Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills
Proficiency with CAD is a plus
Experience with preparation of proposals, cost estimating, and business development is a plus
Should be personable, motivated, and a self-starter capable of working both individually and as part of team
Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
