The Recology internship program will take you outside the classroom and provide you with hands-on professional experience. Each intern will see first-hand the many facets of our business, as well as lead a project and experience how our employee-owners help communities reach their sustainability goals.

Every Internship is Unique
Recology gives every intern a major initiative and guidance from professionals to ensure the successful completion of the project. Recology couples day-to-day work with experience in the field, attending local meetings, and knowledge sharing seminars.
After completing an internship, you are able to add real-world experience to your resume, and you have the potential to remain part of the Recology family.
Environmental Compliance Internship
The environmental compliance group supports the company by obtaining the necessary local, state, and federal permits required to operate solid waste facilities. Once these permits are obtained, the environmental team ensures permit compliance by conducting regular onsite inspections, including sampling water, soil, compost, and waste for laboratory analysis, and preparing and submitting reports to various enforcement agencies.
Responsibilities of an Environmental Compliance Intern:
Document control and e-file organizing
Research on field equipment
Compost program projects
Stormwater program projects
Regulatory research and impact analysis
Support field-based activities
All Recology internship positions are full-time, paid positions. We appreciate intern candidates that are flexible on the location* of their internship. During your 12 weeks, you'll have the chance to network with our management team, develop new skills, learn about our business, and experience what it's like to work within an innovative company. Upon successful completion of the program, interns may be considered for regular full-time, paid positions at Recology.
*At this time, housing allowance is unavailable.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Completes special projects.
Researches, collects and analyzes information.
Prepares reports, as requested.
Performs typing, filing, copying and other clerical tasks.
Be in their senior year of undergraduate coursework or have recently graduated. Applications from graduate students are also encouraged.
Be self-motivated, have strong writing skills, enjoy working with a variety of people.
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications
Skill and / or Ability to:

PROGRAM START DATES
We will have two (2) start dates, and two end dates. Intern candidates must be able to commit to one of the start dates and complete a continuous 12 week internship.
