North State Resources, Inc. (NSR), a leading provider of natural resources management and environmental compliance services in California, is recruiting part-time biologists to perform habitat assessments and surveys for special-status species and other sensitive biological resources at numerous sites throughout California. These are part-time positions supporting multiple projects with variable staffing needs. Project tasks primarily consist of field work; other tasks include performing preliminary desktop analysis, preparing technical reports, and assisting with other deliverables as needed. Specific responsibilities include conducting habitat assessments, special-status plant and animal surveys, nesting bird surveys, worker environmental awareness training, and biological monitoring. All relevant project background information and instructions are provided for each site, and all work is performed under the guidance of NSR senior staff.
Desired qualifications for these positions are a Bachelor's or higher degree in botany, wildlife, biological sciences, environmental sciences, or a related field; experience conducting field surveys in the region and completing associated documentation; working knowledge of relevant environmental statutes and regulations (e.g., CEQA, NEPA, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Fish and Game Code); and excellent organization and communication skills. A clean DMV record and compliance with NSR safety protocols and procedures are required.
