Summary

About the Position:
The incumbent gathers information and data necessary to demonstrate compliance with air permits and regulations, calculating potential and actual air emissions, performing compliance inspections of facilities, assisting in maintaining emission source inventories, and preparing reports and submittals for regulators. Knowledge of the Clean Air Act, New Source Performance Standards, General Conformity, Reasonably Available Control Technologies, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance programs, and Ozone Depleting Substance regulation is required.

The position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA. Fort Belvoir is approximately 15 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., five miles from Alexandria, VA and next door to the community of Mount Vernon, VA. It is within easy driving distance of Washington, D.C., national historical sites and parks. You can find historical sites, shopping, schools, and churches in the area. Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of the Clean Air Act; research new and proposed regulations; provide input to command briefings on impacts of existing and upcoming Clean Air Act regulations; evaluate impacts and develop recommendations to mitigate impacts.
  • Identify needs and develop Environmental Program Requirements Reports (EPRs) for new air quality projects; update EPRs annually; provide government estimates for project costs, cost savings, and cost avoidance; maintain and submit required state reports in compliance with regulatory timelines; maintain and update the Installation Environmental Management Tracking System software.
  • Communicate and interface with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist staff with other compliance programs outside the Air Compliance Program.
  • Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative .
