Job Description

Kleinfelder is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist for their Charlotte or Raleigh NC office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing multi-media environmental services support for industrial, transportation, energy, and other clients, to include: environmental compliance, assessment/remediation and due diligence projects.  Also may include air permitting, stormwater permitting, SPCC plan development, waste management support, air emission control evaluations, compliance auditing, and industrial hygiene support. Experience in the following is ideal for this position:

  • Phase I/II environmental site assessments and UST’s.
  • Air quality permitting, emissions inventories, Title V, and NESHAP compliance including NSR and BACT evaluations;
  • Mobile and stationary source air quality dispersion modeling for transportation conformity analyses, minor and major source air permitting is a plus;
  • Select and recommend techniques, procedures and criteria to perform technical tasks, studies and analysis;
  • Implementing voluntary and mandatory GHG reporting programs;
  • Preparation of SWPPP and SPCC Plans;
  • Conducting environmental compliance assessments; and
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's of Science degree in environmental sciences, environmental or chemical engineering and a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience.   Position also requires out of town travel up to 20% of the time. Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays.
