Acts as the administrative leader for Unit 3B wildlife programs. Administers and manages Crackerneck WMA and other WMAs within Unit 3B. Coordinates wildlife management activities and develops habitat protection goals in four county areas of Unit 3B. Works with Heritage Preserve Biologist to ensure that Unit Heritage Preserve's plans are carried out. Also assists Heritage Preserve Biologist with identifying potential land acquisitions within Unit 3B. Works with other government agencies to advance wildlife habitat protection and improvement, and wildlife abundance and diversity. Provides detailed supervision to all subordinate personnel.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A master's degree in biology, chemistry or related technical area field; or a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, wildlife management or related technical area and two (2) years of experience relevant to the job.
Ability to supervise subordinate personnel and to maintain respect, confidence and support of colleagues and constituents. Working knowledge of farm and wildlife management principles and techniques. Ability to obtain a DLEO Commission, Pesticide Applicators License and Prescribed Fire Managers Certification desired.
