Job Description

The Nature Conservancy <x{(}>(TNC) located in Columbus, GA is seeking a bachelor's graduate with an educational background in Ecology, Field Biology, and/or Forestry desired. The selected candidate will be the Chattahoochee Fall Line <x{(}>(CFL) Field Biologist who will assist regular full time TNC CFL staff and local partners in implementing land management strategies to restore, enhance, and maintain the longleaf pine ecosystem and associated habitat types within the CFL landscape. Equally emphasized within the fellowship is coordination and application of habitat monitoring efforts that will measure and evaluate success of the land management approach relative to desired future conditions and guides the adaptive management approach. Given this, knowledge of the longleaf pine ecosystem is preferred, as is experience with land management strategies such as prescribed fire and skills associated with field biology are central.
