The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for a Scientific Aid in the Enforcement Unit. The position location is 1515 Clay Street, Suite 1400, Oakland, CA 94612. The schedule is flexible, to be set by the incumbent (in consultation with direct supervisor) as any combination of days and hours between approximately 8 AM and 6 PM, Monday-Friday, with a maximum of 1,500 hours per calendar year. No irregular hours, weekends, or holidays are required for this posting.
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Currently registered student or recent graduate from a science, engineering, or legal field of study.
Coursework and experience in water science.
Coursework and experience with data analysis.
Coursework and experience with technical or legal writing.
Knowledge of environmental law, regulation, and policy.
Customer service work experience
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively with coworkers.
Ability to manage multiple work tasks and meet deadlines.
