Davey Tree is a leader in the Residential-Commercial tree care, utility line clearing and forestry consulting industries, throughout the US and Canada.   STARTING DATE:  Applications accepted until suitable candidate is selected.   SUMMARY: Position requires leading 3-5 person tree crews to complete tree pruning and tree removal.  Foreman are responsible for utilizing the Job Planning Toolkit to safely and efficiently complete work orders as assigned by management.  This includes performing pre-climb inspections of trees before work begins.  Foreman work directly with the District Manager to mentor and train new employees.    DUTIES: Safely and productively lead a crew in providing Arboricultural care for our clients Climbs and operates aerial lift to perform tree pruning, removal, cabling & bracing Operate chippers, trucks, aerial lifts, stump grinders or special equipment Lead job-site Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process Maintain all issued gear, assigned equipment and any associated paperwork Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program Demonstrate professionalism and deliver exceptional customer service to clients   QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience   Valid Driver’s License;  Class B CDL preferred Certified Arborist;  CTW & CTSP credentials highly valuable Experience pruning to ANSI A300 standards Comfortable climbing on Split Tail Double Rope Technique (DRT) system  Proficiency tying Climbing Hitches, Termination Knots & Rigging Knots Prior Experience with Sectional Tree Removal utilizing techniques to minimize Dynamic Loads Prior Experience felling with open-faced notch, hinge wood, and back cut for directional control Aerial Lift experience Strong tree ID skills Equipment maintenance experience and customer service are all highly valuable Strong leadership skills: crew management, mentoring and training   BENEFITS / WE OFFER: Full time hourly position (compensation based on qualifications and experience) Potential for overtime Generous performance incentive plan Excellent benefits offered Medical, Dental, Vision plans Paid time off vacation, Holiday Pay,  Sick leave 401K retirement plan,  the opportunity to buy Davey stock after 1 year Employee referral bonus program All climbing gear and PPE provided Industry related training and special Davey training courses Reimbursement is available for industry related certifications  Internships and management mentoring program available Work in beautiful Portland, which sits on the Columbia and  Willamette rivers and in the shadow of snow-capped Mount Hood, and is known for its parks and bicycle paths   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Full time hourly position and compensation based on qualifications and experience. Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.             Including but not limited to: Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems Removal of hazardous trees Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
