Project Manager for Mining and NEPA

Job Summary AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented mine permitting and NEPA Project Manager for immediate employment for the Greenwood Village, or Fort Collins, CO; Salt Lake City, Utah; Reno, Nevada; or Minneapolis, Minnesota office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: Manage interdisciplinary teams through analysis of environmental impacts from mining project activities and develop written descriptions of impacts for environmental documents Coordinate efforts of planning staff and technical subject matter experts, editing, GIS to adhere to scope, schedule, and budget on preparation of mining baseline studies, mine permits, environmental assessments and environmental impact statements in compliance with NEPA and/or other federal and state regulatory requirements, including CWA 404, ESA Section 7, NHPA Section 106, and state mining regulatory programs Oversee the planning and coordination of public meetings and other public outreach and engagement tasks, including travel logistics, project newsletters, notices, public announcements, and related materials Prepare and/or review technical sections of environmental impact analyses for land use planning, natural resource development, and infrastructure projects (including mining, oil & gas, pipeline, power, water, transportation) Contribute to or lead business development activities, including client relations and proposal development for new project work Minimum Requirements 6+ years' experience successfully supporting environmental permitting, environmental impact analysis documents and associated technical studies for mining operations Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Biological Sciences, Planning or related field Preferred Qualifications 10+ years relevant experience Experience in environmental planning and permitting for a variety of mining and mine processing projects including surface and underground mining, metal mining, coal mining and sand and gravel mining. Strong research and analytical abilities Strong written and oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight or preparation of technical reports Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and provide guidance to team members Experience preparing proposals, including costs, for new opportunities NEPA and/or permitting experience on mining projects Background working with federal government agencies, particularly US Forest Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, or Bureau of Land Management on environmental documents and permits Background working with state regulatory agencies for mining, water quality, air quality, and state land management Familiarity with public outreach processes and complex Project Records Experience working as consultant Experience as Project Manager on environmental permitting and planning projects, including client interaction, schedule and budget controls, and invoicing Experience preparing NEPA and permitting environmental documents with extensive knowledge of current federal and state regulations and guidance Understanding of the environmental regulatory framework for the western U.S., including applicable state and federal laws Remember to say you found this opportunity at EnvironmentalCareer.com !
