DESCRIPTION Assists engineers by performing entry-level and routine aspects of engineering assignments. Maintain accurate records of time spent on each job and task. May direct activities of technical and clerical staff assigned to projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS Apply standard techniques and procedures to specific tasks with direct supervision from a more senior engineer. Collect data and gather information or documents. Perform standard computations or analysis. Prepare drawings, figures, and other visual aids. Perform basic field work. Coordinate with QA/QC reviewer. Possess basic verbal and written communication skills. Responsible for understanding and performing work within scope and completion time assigned by Project Manager. Assign tasks to and coordinate with technicians or administrative staff. Attend conferences/seminars primarily for training purposes. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Solid understanding of civil design principles and formulas. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with CAD and GIS. EIT licensure in the State of California or ability to obtain EIT licensure within 6 months of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Emphasis on environmental/water resources engineering in coursework is beneficial. Coursework and research experience in water and wastewater supply, distribution and treatment, and water quality. Ability to write technical information using appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling for concise reader-friendliness and clarity. Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new methods and programs. Must effectively communicate with all project team members.
