JOB INFORMATION The Regional Public Affairs Community Liaison Program Manager will act as the administrator of the region’s public affairs program and provides communications services during critical incidents. This position will also act the region’s ombudsman and assist the Regional Supervisor in a regional coordinator role and develops and implements the regional community engagement program to ensure the regional programs.   Major duties will include : ·            Acts the lead regional communicator for the region which may include the use of social media as a tool to deliver Department messages ·            Assist and support the delivery of Department educational programs ·            Responds to media and public inquires and continuously evaluates regional communities and sets goals to build a better relationships for the region ·            Assist and advises the Regional Supervisor in developing regional implementation plans to ensure regional goals and priorities are aligned with community and constituent needs ·            Understanding all key strategic and operational issues in the region and provide any quality insights to the Regional Supervisor ·            Build local relationships with local governments, media, and educational institutions and with local business organizations ·            Monitors and provides feedback on effectiveness of regional customer service program and coordinate with the Department    Legislative Liaison to maintain relationships with staff of regional Legislators ·            Represents the Department on committees, boards and teams as appropriate ·            Performs other duties as assigned   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The candidate must have knowledge of: planning, strategic plan objectives, program narratives, operational plan objectives and budget allocation, managing priorities, qualitative and quantitative evaluation measures and continuous process improvement, educational theory and training strategies, meeting facilitation tools and techniques, principles, concepts and practices of wildlife, habitat and fisheries management, natural resource management, biotic communities, bio-geographic provinces and environmental sciences, computer operation and use of word-processing. The candidate must be skilled in project management, time management, and have strong oral and written communications skills, customer service, community and public relationships, program planning, coordination and public relationships, program planning, meeting facilitation, planning and conducting public meetings and educational workshops, making decisions under pressure and with abbreviated time lines. Candidates must be able to work effectively under minimal supervision, handle critical incidents and high stress situations, build and maintain effective professional relationships, and evaluate conflicts and employ appropriate conflict resolution techniques. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife or Fisheries Management or Biology. The preferred candidate will have experience in public relations and journalism. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS A Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card issued will be required. Employment may be contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions. Position requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).
