Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a Supervisory Fish Biologist, you will perform the following duties: Serve as the supervisor and a member of the leadership team of Panama City Laboratory performing supervisory functions, representing the laboratory, and managing the scientific lab programs and the administrative management of the facility. Supervise and conduct research on marine habitats, fishery life-history parameters, and fish population biology, and direct the work of teams and lower-level scientists. Administer, oversee, and coordinate with other science centers all the activities of budget planning, formulation, and execution, and develop a strategic workforce plan to achieve organizational goals. Provide expert technical guidance by assessing problems and creating solutions or recommendations to organizational specialists. Coordinate and develop new precedents and guidelines requiring the use of advanced scientific techniques, and the modification and integration of emerging technologies into program systems.
