Golden or Fort Collins, CO Job Description To support our growth, ICF is seeking an On-Call Sr. Technical Specialist, Environmental Planner with experience on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews and permitting. Successful applicants to this position would work remotely or from the ICF Golden or Fort Collins offices. The Principal Environmental Planner would support interactions with the Forest Service and BLM and other federal agencies. Principal Environmental Planners at ICF have an opportunity to manage large, complex NEPA reviews and to assist in growing our NEPA portfolio across an expanding and versatile environmental division. We are seeking a person with strong technical skills to lead the capture and management of large, complex, multi-year NEPA projects. This position requires the ability to take a leadership role in managing multi-disciplined projects and subject matter experts, mentoring junior staff, and fostering and developing business with existing and new clients. Requires experience in the preparation, management, and overall planning process for developing Forest Service and BLM Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs). Experience with NEPA application across multiple federal agencies and/or for projects involving multiple cooperating agencies and stakeholders a plus. The Principal Environmental Planner will support the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high quality products and services. Key Responsibilities Interact with existing potential clients to identify new opportunities associated with Forest Plan revisions and other large-scale planning and environmental projects across multiple regions Manage agency consultation, public involvement, comment-response, impact analyses, and document production Manage multidisciplinary teams, including developing and monitoring project budgets and schedules Qualifications 10+ years of experience working for the federal government, USFS and BLM preferred 10+ years of experience managing NEPA projects Experience writing and managing technical and cost proposals EIS project management experience EA and categorical exclusion experience Business Development and proposal preparation experience Knowledge of NEPA and other relevant federal and state regulations Bachelor's Degree in relevant field Preferred Skills/Experience Master's Degree or higher Management experience with multiple federal agencies Subject matter expert in one or more areas required by NEPA Candidates should possess the ability and interest to contribute occasionally to ICF's non-NEPA environmental practice areas (e.g., technical reports, other BD efforts) Professional Skills Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) Working at ICF Working at ICF means applying a passion for meaningful work with intellectual rigor to help solve the leading issues of our day.
