About the Position:
This is a Natural Resources Specialist (Ranger), GS-0401-05/07/09 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, Operations Division, Beaver Project Office, located in Rogers, AR.  

This position may be filled at any grade level, GS-05, GS-07, or GS-09; the full-performance level is GS-09.  Promotion to the next grade level is at the discretion of Management.  NOTE: You will be required to work some nights, some weekends, and some holidays.


You will serve as a Natural Resources Specialist (Ranger) involved in all aspects of project operations including natural resources, recreation, and dam safety. You will coordinate short-range planning and execution of all activities related to one or more of the following:

  • Recreation and park administration
  • Shoreline management and stabilization
  • Fisheries and wildlife
  • Pest control
  • Soil conservation
  • Historic property management and protection
  • Visitor assistance and public safety and education

You will participate in the conservation, preservation, restoration, and use of project natural and cultural resources. You will work with other fish and wildlife specialists and state and federal wildlife management agencies to protect threatened and endangered species. You will also patrol project lands and waters to prevent unauthorized use, trespass, and destruction of property.

  • Business Travel is required up to 10% of the time.

  • Yes
  • Permanent change of station (PCS) allowances are authorized, but DoD National Relocation Program (DNRP) services are not authorized.
