Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) ($5,888 - $7,324) - Division of Environmental Services, Office of Environmental Compliance, State Water Project Mitigation and Restoration Branch, West Sacramento
Duties: Do you have an interest in the preservation and restoration of the natural environment of the Delta? Want to be part of one of the largest aquatic habitat restoration programs in the State? We’re looking for someone to plan, manage, and implement tidal wetland habitat restoration projects in the Delta and act as the Branch’s resident expert on environmental compliance to help guide and implement the Fish Restoration Program’s habitat restoration efforts for State Water Project mitigation. Desirable Qualifications: Must possess knowledge of Delta issues and aquatic ecology; experience with Delta aquatic habitat restoration; knowledge of, or experience with CEQA, NEPA, and environmental permitting; experience with Endangered Species Act and California Endangered Species Act compliance; knowledge of, or experience with, the Fish Restoration Program, CA Eco Restore, or other Delta aquatic habitat restoration programs; and knowledge of, or experience with, Delta species mitigation. The incumbent must have good project management skills, including the ability to develop Water Resources Engineering Memorandum 65a project management documents; lead multi-disciplinary and interagency teams in planning and implementing a habitat restoration project; and excellent coordination, communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
Special Requirements: Incumbent must possess a valid California driver’s license to drive to various field locations and meetings.
