The Department of Biology and the Curriculum in Environment and Ecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invite applications for the position of lecturer to begin in 2017-18.
The position is a nine-month appointment for an initial period of three years and is periodically renewable upon review. We seek a dedicated person who is prepared to teach in the areas of statistical ecology and ecological modeling, and to consult with trainees and faculty on ecological statistics and modeling. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests and experience along with consulting experience in these areas. The successful candidate will also work with other faculty, both within our units and with other units, to develop new courses. Teaching expectations are three courses per semester, including statistical consulting for ecological research among graduate students, post-docs, and faculty.
Collectively, our programs offer undergraduate degrees in biology, environmental science, environmental studies, and graduate degrees in ecology and biology. Our students and faculty are engaged in both field and laboratory experimental research. Statistical consulting involves providing advice on experimental design as well as post-collection data analysis.
