Examples of Work

Assist with the collection of field, survey and other data associated with waterfowl, upland game and furbearer programs. Technician also will be responsible for data entry and analysis and assisting with or responsible for writing reports. Completion of other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:  15 semester hours or the equivalent of post high school coursework/training in fisheries management, wildlife management, natural resources and/or biology and 12 months experience in wildlife, recreation, or fisheries management. Driver's license required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic knowledge of wildlife management and ecology principles. Strong writing and communication skills are essential as well as a working knowledge of data entry and use of personal computers. Experience with MS Access, MS Excel, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and other software packages is desirable. Applicants must be able to tolerate working odd hours as necessary while working in remote areas and a valid driver's license is required.
