RHA is seeking candidates for a Research Internship for the summer of 2017. The Research Intern will assist with a variety of projects in order to gain a broad range of experiences in scientific research on streams, rivers, and wetlands from designing a study, collecting data, analyzing and reporting, making conservation recommendations, and communicating results. The Intern will assist with a variety of projects that may include: Microplastic pollution, bacterial monitoring, Atrazine pilot study, aquatic biodiversity in streams and wetlands, and a trend analysis of stream monitoring data.
Qualified applicants should either be working towards a degree or already have completed a bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental policy or a related field. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors, have good writing skills, be organized and reliable and have a basic understanding of conservation issues. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required; some GIS experience is preferred. Candidates should be living within commuting distance of Bedminster, NJ.
Hours: 20 hours/week (10 weeks)
Start Date: June 1 (flexible)
End Date: August 15 (flexible)
