In your role, you will:
• Administer Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for Bombardier Aerospace. Act as part of the site leadership team and be required to demonstrate leadership qualities during their course of employment, self-motivated, extremely organized and have the ability to perform in a fast paced environment.
• Respond to requests for information from legal counsel, regulatory agencies and consultants on multimedia regulatory issues, for example, air, water, waste, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, and remediation to ensure compliance
• Develop and/or revise EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) programs including, for example, determine areas of plant impact, containment, labeling, in-plant transportation and storage, waste profiles, identify vendor and consultant support services, training programs, record keeping and reporting, and material and equipment requirements
• Develop EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) site goals and objectives for frequency rates (FR) and severity rates (SR)
• Communicate with all levels of management across BBAS Service Centers regarding EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) activities including but not limited to, policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, corporate directives, and developing strategic initiatives
• Assist Legal Counsel with negotiations and provide formal responses to regulatory agencies concerning EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) program administration, corrective action plans, and inspection discrepancies, including but not limited to, EPA and all local and federal regulatory agencies
• Perform initial and ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System) site certification activities. Including but not limited to; obtain site management support and buy-in, conduct management training and performing pre-certification audits
• Hazardous waste program - identify and classify hazardous waste streams, develop hazardous waste stream profiles, coordinate sampling and analysis, audit vendors, arrange for proper disposal, storage, shipping, handling, manifesting, and record keeping and reporting
• ISO14001 / OHSAS 18001 Environmental and Safety Assessment Management System - develop, implement and maintain SMS documents and procedures, provide training, assist with conducting annual internal audits, coordinate external certification audits, develop and recommend targets and objectives, coordinate management reviews and monitor and report monthly performance of management programs
• Hazardous material management program - maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) program, coordinate facility chemical inventory and provide training
• Emergency Response program - perform, monitor, coordinate, and document training; maintain Emergency Response and Contingency Plan and submit to required regulatory agencies; coordinate with HR (Human Resource), Security, and Health Services; communicate emergency protocols; participate in local emergency planning committee

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,
• You have 2+, years of experience in administering EHS (Environmental Health and/or Safety) programs
• You have working knowledge of purpose, calibration requirements, and how-to-operate and calibrate various EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) equipment preferred. For example, multi-gas monitors, pressure gauges and velometer
• You have working knowledge of waste water treatment, for example, chemicals, discharge parameters and treatment technology
• You have working knowledge of incident command system and company emergency response procedures
• You have working knowledge of soil and groundwater characteristics, contaminant fate and transport and remediation technologies (as required by assigned programs)
• You have working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations, Industry standard requirements, and Company policies concerning EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) practices for assigned EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) programs, including but not limited to, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), Clean Water Act (CWA), DOT (Department of Transportation), and International Air Transport Association (IATA) Clean Air Act (CAA), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA)
• You have training skills necessary to provide instruction and education to employees on EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) -related topics and issues
• You have computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, flowchart, EHS (Environmental Health and Safety), database, email, and web-based applications
• You have interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, and management
• You have evaluation skills necessary to review and monitor business activity and operations for compliance with Federal, State, local, and company EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) programs
• You have previous EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) experience within aerospace, construction, and or other industry - preferred
• You have industry certifications or licenses, for example, , CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) and ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers), PE (Professional Engineer) PG (Professional Geologist) -preferred
• You have OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 501 certification - preferred
• You have Ergonomics certification - preferred
