Job Description

Our Transportation Environmental Planner career path is your opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. 

You will participate in the development of planning studies, NEPA documents, and permitting processes for a variety of transportation related projects in Colorado and other parts of the southwest U.S. Responsibilities may include: leading research and analysis tasks (qualitative and quantitative); developing findings and writing technical reports; presenting to internal and external project teams, stakeholders, and the public; coordination of internal and external teams; and support for public and stakeholder involvement activities. You will work on a variety of transportation planning projects; and be involved in the development of transportation design and construction projects.

The successful candidate will be expected to plan, prepare and deliver technical information; coordinate NEPA and planning tasks with team members and clients, under the supervision of senior planners; develop public involvement activities; and participate in business development and client service activities.

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5-10 years of environmental planning work experience, ideally including corridor and planning studies for state Departments of Transportation. NEPA experience with Colorado transportation and transit agencies is desirable although not required. Qualified candidates should have a relevant BS/BA degree, excellent writing skills and a working knowledge of NEPA requirements for transportation projects as well as a desire to grow personally and professionally with each assignment.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Related BS/BA degree
• 5-10 years environmental planning work experience
• Strong working knowledge of NEPA requirements for transportation projects
