Position Title: Regulatory Engineer-Materials

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate strategy for vehicle material related issues (i.e. substances of concern, green chemistry, high voltage battery recycling) including rulemaking and Corporate policy
  • Communicate challenges and strategy to management to ensure corporate alignment and support
  • Work with and reinforce strong working relationships with external entities (regulatory agencies, trade associations, and non-governmental organizations) and internal partners (product development, legal staff, and government relations) to support Ford’s objectives
  • Conduct real world product data analysis to support data driven rulemaking, communications and strategy to ensure strategic alignment with Ford’s product strategy
  • Support international regulatory forecasting and negotiating strategies


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific field of study
  • 2+ years of technical or policy experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office


Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate groups (internal and external) with competing interests
  • Experience in negotiating (with government agencies a plus)
