Job Description


The Ecological Restoration Specialist will assist with a variety of public, private, and institutional projects throughout the Mid- Atlantic region. Projects, which will vary in type and scale, may include watershed assessment, stormwater management design, and the development of integrated ecological restoration and engineering design.

Primary Responsibilities
» Applying an ecological mindset to the resolution of challenges posed by the built environment
» Stream, wetland, and shoreline restoration design
» Developing stormwater management retrofit design plans
» Low Impact Development (LID) and Environmental Site Design (ESD) assessment and design
» Creating site-specific conceptual designs through construction documents
» Preparing specifications and cost estimates
» Construction bid support and construction inspection

Skills Required
» Stream, wetland, shoreline and/or outfall restoration experience
» Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
» Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
» Strong written and oral communication skills
» Unwavering environmental ethic
» Client centered focus Additional Skills Helpful
» LID and ESD experience
» Pond retrofit and utility engineering experience Education BS or MS in related field (engineering, landscape architecture, or environmental sciences)

Years of Experience: 7 to 12
