The position is primarily responsible for providing analytical and research support for Ohio Natural Gas Energy Efficiency programs, as well as support of other various areas of Energy Efficiency. Responsibilities include reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and compliance, market research activities, analysis of customer data to predict customer response to corporate energy efficiency initiatives, and support for program evaluation activities.
Responsible for monthly reporting of program performance and budget, including end of year projections. Work with Energy Efficiency team on a variety of projects including operating plans, annual reports, filings and program evaluation. Provide data analysis for program support including data collection, interpretation and validation of complex data sets. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns over multiple data sets.
Provide timely updates for program implementation team, reporting key milestones and progress, and provide data for decision support. Assist with planning and implementation of new programs. Develop program status reports to meet management requests and ensure that the right parties and/or individuals are informed and involved in the processes and issues. Report periodic progress updates, complete action items, and coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure program goals are achieved. Serve as liaison for IT data file requests/changes, data management support and data accuracy. Create and/or modify reports and queries, append complex and large datasets with a good understanding of relational databases.
Process applicable invoices ensuring accuracy of billing and review month end financial reports for accuracy. Assist and coordinate with vendors in analyzing contract and payment issues, including the validation of technical data, time estimates, and costs. Develop and document procedures to improve processes and ensure proper accounting and compliance.
Work with the evaluation team to coordinate the analyses related to program evaluation, measurement, and verification. Keep abreast of evaluations and learn from related projects implemented by other energy efficiency organizations. Coordinate with planning staff to ensure that key planning assumptions are updated per new evaluation findings. Keep abreast of new cost-effective technologies for inclusion in future program planning. Develop/maintain up-to-date market characterizations for markets relevant to initiatives being evaluated.
Master's degree in business, accounting, technical/engineering, economics, public policy, or other field that involved project management or energy management. Work Experience:Essential:Analyst: 2-4 years of related job experience. Strong background in energy management, project management, or business/management. Sr. Analyst: 4-6 years of related job experience. Strong background in energy management, project management, or business/management.
Preferred:Knowledge of energy policy, energy management, interest in non-profit sectors, process documentation, and understanding of planning and communication techniques. Strong information technology and technical skills and working with various databases. Strong financial planning, project accounting, and business case development skills. Strong attention to detail. Functional/Technical Competency Requirements:Comfortable with high level of personal accountability for quality and accuracy of work. Must be able to provide accurate and timely reports. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage rapidly changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
