Job Description

The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board’s, South Lake Tahoe office has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the Planning and Assessment Unit. 

Duties:

Under close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist unit chief, and in collaboration with colleagues, the successful applicant will (1) assess the water quality data for Lahontan Region waters relative to water quality objectives and develop the Clean Water Act Section 303d/ 305b Integrated Report, (2) develop TMDLs or other regulatory mechanisms to restore beneficial uses to impaired waters for 303d listed waters, and (3) develop amendments to the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Plan (Basin Plan) in response to State and Regional Water Board policy changes or to update water quality objectives.
