Job Description

Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC is currently seeking a team-focused, creative, and results-oriented Environmental Scientist who has a desire to contribute to our clients’ success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth.  This position will be working out of our Cedar Rapids, IA location.


  • Prepare sampling plans and collect field sampling data (soil, groundwater, and air)
  • Manage drilling investigations and contractors
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Assist in preparing regulatory compliance plans and reports
  • Prepare permit submittals to regulatory agencies
  • Assist with conducting groundwater statistical analysis for compliance reporting purposes
  • Identify and proactively communicate opportunities to address client issues, solve problems, and improve operations
  • Document construction quality on landfill and remediation projects
  • Assist in designing and operating landfill leachate systems, gas management systems and landfill cells
  • Perform site evaluations and prepare reports for Phase I Environmental Assessments for review by an environmental professional
  • Assist preparation of Phase II Environmental Investigation work plans and reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering, or related degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with an environmental consulting firm
  • Experience preparing technical reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer-in-Training designation (or ability obtain within twelve months) or Iowa Certified Groundwater Professional (or ability to obtain within twelve months)
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification 
  • Previous experience with the following:
    • AutoCAD, MicroSation, or GIS software
    • Environmental sampling of groundwater and soil
    • Groundwater statistical analysis
