Region Environmental Coordinator – Environmental Program Coordinator 3

Oregon Department of Transportation, Region 1, which includes the Portland metro area, is recruiting for a Region environmental coordinator (REC) to be responsible for ensuring that the department's environmental goals are being accomplished during the project development process and throughout all construction activities and maintenance procedures.
The primary function of this position is to lead a team of environmental specialists who are responsible for conducting all environmental activities as they relate to transportation projects. This includes reconnaissance, development, construction, and maintenance activities. This person is responsible for coordinating environmental activities of the agency's most complex projects with the Environmental Section in Salem and representing the Region in statewide environmental issues. The REC carries out citizen's involvement activities as they relate to projects being developed and advise district managers, construction project managers, and other region staff on environmental matters.
Three years of environmental analysis or resource project management experience. One year of which must have included research design and analysis
A bachelor's degree with 30 quarter or 20 semester hours in an environmental science, a physical science, a natural science, engineering, or a closely-related field. Three additional years of environmental analysis or resource project management experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree.
