We are seeking an inspired communicator who can engage multiple communities in our mission through storytelling, reporting, interviews, pictorials and interactive conversations. Interview a team of biologist or a flock of sandpipers, report on a graduate student’s research on humpback whales, show the world Adelie Penguins from our Antarctica research outpost or invite guests to witness a scientist-led conservation walk on climate change.
As the Communications Associate, you will use your excellent talent at engaging audiences through your written words and eye for imagery to educate, provide vital information, generate important conversations and broaden awareness about the important work we do. You will support the Director of Communications in creating and executing internet marketing including managing website content, newsletters, invitations and announcements. You will often participate and even take the lead on creating content for printed magazines, education, event and fundraising materials. As part of the Advancement team, you will assist our public relations efforts with media relations and outreach to local communities, our partners and supporters.
At Point Blue the core values of our work are innovation, scientific rigor, collaboration, excellence and integrity.
