Job Description

Under general direction of the Champaign Regional Manager, Field Operations Section, Division of Public Water Supplies, Bureau of Water, inspects and evaluates complex public water supply facilities; writes technical reports and letters pertaining to these inspections.  Responds to consumers' complaints and public water supply emergencies.  Assumes Regional Manager duties and responsibilities during scheduled and unscheduled absences.  Acts as lead worker to other Regional staff.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:  Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with a bachelor's degree in an engineering science.  Type of course work would be associated with environmental, sanitary, civil, general, industrial, chemical, or public health.  Requires possession of an Illinois certificate as a registered professional engineer.  Requires four years of professional engineering experience related to working with complex engineering problems.  A master's degree in engineering or business administration may be substituted for two years of professional experience.

Specific Job Requirements:  Requires travel and a valid driver's license.
